Road Fund Licence

All Leasys Business Contract Hire agreements include Road Fund Licence – also known as Vehicle Excise Duty (VED), meaning that you do not have to pay road tax; the annual cost is avoided completely.

What is it?
The Road Fund Licence (RFL) is a taxation imposed by the government on all roadworthy motor vehicles. The cost of Road Fund Licence is based on the emissions the vehicle produces.

Is the VAT recoverable?
The Value Added Tax (VAT) is charged when a VAT-registered business sells to another business or to a private customer, and it includes the Road Fund Licence. If your business is VAT registered, you can therefore claim back:
For a car: 50% of the VAT on the Road Fund Licence
For a van: 100% of the VAT on the Road Fund Licence
