Contract Hire
Contract Hire is a very popular and straightforward way to drive a new vehicle long-term, without the financial commitment of purchasing it as when you lease a vehicle, you don’t own it. Contract Hire is divided into two variants: Personal Contract Hire, and Business Contract Hire for businesses of all size.
At the end of your agreement, when all outstanding rental payments have been made, you simply hand your vehicle back, choose your next one and start again. Handy, right?
How does it work?
1. Choose your car
You can choose any new vehicle available, enabling you to drive the latest model launched, and therefore enjoy new specifications and technologies available.
2. Define your contract duration
Whether you’re looking for a compact city car, a family SUV, a van, or maybe your first or replacement Electric Vehicle, Leasys can offer you an extensive range of vehicles to choose from and flexible agreements with terms ranging from 24 to 60 months.
3. Define your annual mileage
You can define your annual mileage at the outset of your contract, providing you with flexibility. If you need to amend your contracted mileage, you will be able to do so by contacting Leasys. T&Cs may apply.
4. Define your initial rental
It is usually 3-9 months rental, but you choose the amount you want to pay upfront. The more you pay upfront, the lower your monthly rentals will be.
5. Fixed monthly payment
You will pay a fixed monthly rental for a specified period of time (usually two, three or four years), agreed at the outset of your Contract Hire agreement.
6. Maintenance and servicing
Because we understand that the cost of maintaining your vehicle can be difficult to predict, by opting to include vehicle servicing, maintenance, repair, MOT and tyre replacement for an additional fixed and inflation-proof small amount added on to your monthly rental, Leasys provides you with smooth, peace-of-mind and hassle-free motoring.
7. End of contract
When your Contract Hire agreement comes to an end, you will have three options: return the vehicle to Leasys, extend your current lease, or upgrade to a new model. If you decide to switch to a new car or van, a few months before the end of your contract you’ll have the opportunity to browse and order from a wide selection of the latest vehicles available.
Benefits of Contract Hire
Contract Hire has a lot of advantages compared to other finance options:
Cost saving
Unlike purchasing a vehicle which often requires a substantial initial payment, leasing a vehicle typically includes minimal or no upfront cost. A Leasys Contract Hire agreement allows you to drive a new vehicle without depleting your personal savings, and because you are essentially paying for the vehicle depreciation costs rather than the cost of the vehicle itself, this results in a significantly lower fixed monthly payment compared to other methods of vehicle finance.
Flexibility and peace-of-mind motoring
Contract Hire provides you with the flexibility to choose the vehicle you want, for the duration you need, with the leasing services that are suiting your requirements. It also enable you to access to new vehicles and latest technologies.
Hassle-free end of contract
At the end of your Contract Hire agreement and when all outstanding rental payments have been made, you simply return your vehicle without worrying about selling or trading it – we take care of it all.
We're here to support you!
Before pursuing with a Contract Hire, there are few topics related to the end of contract that you need to be aware of:
All the original equipment and accessories must be returned with the vehicle.
The vehicle needs to be returned in good conditions. Leasys is a member of the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association (BVRLA) and is proud to operate under the BVRLA Code of Conduct. It means that during the comprehensive inspection of the vehicle on collection day, Leasys is assuring you of the highest levels of professionalism and integrity by following the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear standards.
To find out what is considered as a fair wear and tear, and what may be considered as an excessive or chargeable damage, please refer to the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear standard here. If any damages are considered as excessive or chargeable, then you will be liable.
If the actual total mileage of your vehicle exceeds the allowed total mileage, you will be charged an excess mileage charge. All details about excess mileage charges will be available in your vehicle schedule.
At the end of your Contract Hire agreement, as you won’t own the vehicle, you will have no vehicle and no equity in a vehicle to put towards the next one. But there is nothing to worry about: we will contact you few months before the end of your contract so you can plan, choose, and order your next vehicle.
