Driving Change: The UK’s Electric Car Grant Scheme Just Got Real
The UK Government has put its money where its mission is and have recently launched a £650 million Electric Car Grant (ECG) Scheme to make EVs more affordable for everyday drivers.
From July 2025, buyers of new electric cars priced under £37,000 can now get up to £3,750 off—no paperwork, no waiting – as part of the UK’s “Plan for Change,” which aims to end petrol and diesel car sales by 2030.
How It Works
Two tiers of savings:
- £3,750 for EVs built to top sustainability standards
- £1,500 for other qualifying models
Who’s Eligible?
Cars must be:
- Fully electric (zero emissions)
- Priced under £37,000
- Offer at least a 100-mile range

- 180,000+ public charge points by 2029
- £30M to help businesses go electric
